Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure

Repeatable, reviewable Azure deployments with Bicep and Terraform. We help turn click-ops into version-controlled infrastructure so environments can be more consistent and auditable, with rebuilds driven by code where the architecture supports it.

Hexonova helps organisations move from manual cloud changes to automated Azure deployments aligned to your security and governance requirements. Our Infrastructure as Code service is built to support reliability and scale, with preparation support for security accreditation activities. We help your teams adopt automation while maintaining clear oversight.

What is Infrastructure as Code?

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is the practice of managing and provisioning computing infrastructure through machine-readable definition files rather than manual configuration. Using tools like Bicep and Terraform, infrastructure becomes code: stored in version control, reviewed like software, and can be deployed automatically.

On Azure, IaC can help you achieve:

  • More consistent environments across teams and stages
  • Changes tracked and reviewable in source control (e.g., Git), with options to roll back configuration for suitable resources when state management, backups, and processes are in place
  • Automated deployments that can be auditable and redeployable from code, depending on your design and tooling

Note: Rollbacks for stateful services and data depend on backups and disaster recovery design, and may require additional steps.

Who this service is for

IaC is a fit for organisations that need reliable and scalable Azure environments, including those operating in regulated sectors or with compliance obligations such as:

  • Government
  • Healthcare
  • Financial services
  • Education

Deployments are delivered into your Microsoft Azure subscription, commonly targeting the Australia East region where suitable. Regional selection and data residency depend on Microsoft service availability and your configuration.

The problems IaC solves

  • Inconsistent environments: declarative definitions promote more consistent Azure resource creation across environments
  • Manual effort and risk: automate repeatable tasks to help reduce human error
  • Audit and compliance gaps: version-controlled infrastructure helps make changes transparent and reviewable
  • Recovery complexity: rebuilding from code can support faster recovery in line with your architecture and DR objectives

What’s included

Hexonova delivers IaC for Azure with a strong focus on security and governance practices:

  • Azure infrastructure defined in Bicep and/or Terraform
  • Version-controlled infrastructure (e.g., Git) for tracking and reviewing changes, with patterns that can enable rollbacks for suitable resources when supported by state management and backups
  • Automated deployments to help create more consistent, auditable environments
  • Cloud infrastructure design with preparation support for security accreditation activities
  • Deployments targeted to your Azure subscription in the Australia East region where appropriate
  • Backing from Hexonova’s broader services, including 24/7 cloud security operations (subject to agreed scope and SLAs)

Why choose Hexonova

  • Specialises in cloud architecture with a strong security focus and AI-enabled software on Microsoft Azure
  • Serves regulated industries, including government, healthcare, financial services, and education
  • End-to-end capability: cloud infrastructure design, preparation support for security accreditation activities, and 24/7 cloud security operations (per agreed SLAs)
  • Deep focus on Azure IaC using Bicep (Azure-native) and Terraform for repeatable, reviewable deployments
  • Australian-based, with deployments commonly targeted to the Azure Australia East region in your subscription (subject to service availability and configuration)

How we work

  • Define your target Azure environment using Bicep or Terraform
  • Store and manage your infrastructure definitions in version control for clarity and oversight
  • Automate deployments to help deliver more consistent, auditable environments, with code-driven rebuilds where appropriate
  • Prepare environments to support security accreditation activities
  • Operate with security monitoring and response via Hexonova’s 24/7 cloud security operations (subject to agreed scope and SLAs)

Important notes on scope and responsibilities

  • Accreditation support: Hexonova provides preparation support for security accreditation activities. We are not an auditor or certification body, and no accreditation or certification outcome is guaranteed.
  • Hosting and data residency: Solutions are deployed into your Microsoft Azure subscription/tenant. Azure is provided by Microsoft. Region selection (such as Australia East) can support data residency objectives and is subject to Microsoft service behaviour, availability, and your configuration and data flows.
  • Service availability: Any around-the-clock services are provided according to an agreed statement of work and SLAs. Availability and response times depend on those terms.
  • Recovery outcomes: IaC can support code-driven rebuilds and recovery, with actual outcomes dependent on your architecture, RTO/RPO objectives, and operational processes.
